Dealing with Grief & Loss
"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient."
— Quran 2:155
Mourning the loss of a loved one, a job, or a dream. Allah promises that whatever He takes, He replaces with something better for the patient believer.
Prophetic Remedies (Duas)
Read:Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Allahumma-jurni fi musibati wa akhlif li khayran minha.
Meaning:Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return. O Allah, reward me for my affliction and replace it for me with something better.

Radical Acceptance (Qadar)
- 1.Acknowledge your pain without guilt. The Prophet (PBUH) wept when his son Ibrahim died, saying 'The eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved.'
- 2.Remind yourself of Qadar: This loss was written 50,000 years before the heavens and earth were created. It was never meant to miss you.
- 3.Recite the Dua of Umm Salama (above). She recited it when she lost her beloved husband, and Allah replaced him with the Prophet (PBUH) himself.
