Dead Person / Death
Quick Answer
A reminder of the hereafter; receiving something from the dead is good, giving is loss.
Classical Interpretation (Ibn Sirin)
Seeing a deceased person in a dream is one of the most common dreams. In classical Islamic interpretation, if a dead person gives you something of worldly value (like food or clean clothes), it symbolizes unexpected provision or good news. If the dead person takes something from you, it may indicate a loss or hardship. Seeing a deceased loved one in a good state (smiling, wearing white) is a glad tiding of their status in the Hereafter.
Quranic Context

Hadith Context
"The Prophet (PBUH) said: 'When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity), knowledge from which benefit is reaped, or a righteous child who prays for him.' (Sahih Muslim)"
