Classical Interpretation (Ibn Sirin)
Clothes represent one's piety, protection, and spouse. Clean, white clothes symbolize religious purity and a good state in this world and the Hereafter. Torn, dirty, or black clothes signify distress, sins, or grief. Wearing new clothes is a sign of a new job, marriage, or entering a better phase of life. Taking off clothes signifies losing status or exposure of secrets.
